I have narrowed my search down to 2 company's, Stevens and Schneider. Stevens emailed me the brochure of all of there benefits etc. I'm still waiting on Schneider's. It seems like Schneider will get me home more or a semi regular basis. This may sound stupid and I'm looking at this in the wrong light but Stevens' trucks are better equipped with a few more of the creature comforts that makes the time away a little more bearable. The job I have now I tend to travel alot and our crew does take a few things that makes the time away from home a little more enjoyable. To me that goes a long ways.
But at the same time I'm hearing * reading * that with Stevens you are not at home as near as much. Where as Schneider seems like they will get you home more often. Does anybody have any insite on the comparison of the 2 companies?
Looking for the pros and cons of Stevens vs Schneider

Schneider has the best new driver training program in the industry. Yes on the other hand there trucks are older so you probably won't be driving a brand new truck if you go with them. They are though overhauling a majority of there fleet I think.
Guess it depends on if driving a newer truck is more important than getting great initial training.
I guess the other question is what do you mean by creature comforts?sinker Thanks this. -
If you want "creature comforts" stay away if it means that you'll have to hook anything up to the batteries at Schneider.

If you want creature comforts stay away from trucking period. -
You are going to hear good and bad about both. You should base a decision on whats best for you.

Schneider will get you home more. be sure to calculate how many miles per week are acceptable for you. i believe they are comfortable with you averaging appx 2,200 per wk. my question is this.... what do you do for the rest of the week??? most of their freight is drop n hook. just fyi....... i worked there for 7yrs.

another consideration...unless they changed it for 2013 you owe Steven's your arse for 2ish years unless schoolin is cash and carry. Millis and Roehl get better reviews and hire from your area. Both very good at hometime, so I hear. I'm off to Roehl school for newbees in Feb. so I hope I heard right. Schnieder appealed because they're massive, which may turn into better slow season miles and higher end of year $$$. Have heard good things on their hometime too. Roehl does demand higher up front costs for schooling so if money's tight they ain't right.
