KLLM pays 0.32 cents per mile with no raise again this year for company drivers. I have never met a lease driver who is happy with the KLLM lease program. The lease program has ruined all the KLLM company driver trips. Lease drivers can turn down trips so KLLM company drivers get the trash can trips like short-hauls, mountain routes, snow routes, going to customers that are known for the longest wait times and no drop hooks. Company drivers are forced to do swaps with lease drivers near customer locations so we do all the waiting and they can keep moving.
KLLM company drivers get the trash can trips

in regards to your complaints with having to do the dirty work- someone has gotta make those truck payments.
-
this applies to all companies.l/o and o/o have always had the choice to refuse or take what loads they want. as a company driver you take whats given you. if you don't like kllm move on
-
but you're gonna find the same issues with other companies too

Off topic!!!!!!!
Some companies keep the cream puff runs for the company trucks, and " offer" the crap to the hired trucks. Ya you can turn it down but you won't be offered the gravy run unless they can't put it on one of theirs . -
Hate to say, but bad weather and snow covered roads are all part of trucking. If you can't handle that, time to hang up the keys.

I would believe your "trash can" post to be right on the money. Been there and done that; glad I'm gone. The people that fall for the lease program are no better in the end game. Big time rip off.
Trash can organization. Well put..... -
Do you recall that KLLM did not pay for actual miles driven? Only paid zip code to zip code mileage (household movers guide miles). KLLM company drivers are paid only $25 for some trips that are less than 100 miles and you still spend hours waiting at the KLLM customer. No detention pay if the KLLM driver arrives late to a customer even though not the driver's fault. Not paid mileage for driving the truck from your last customer to your time-off location. The holiday bonus pay for staying on the road is a joke. It is not a bonus to an otherwise normal paycheck. You will drive less miles since more customers are closed during the holiday period so the bonus pay makes the paycheck the same as usual.

welcome to otr trucking is the only thing that comes to mind.. i have been with 3 different otr companies in my time and all of that is "standard", infact all of what you complain of is pretty much standard operating procedure for most of the otr/regional trucking segment. most companies have "some" sort of seniority, the longer youre there, the better trips you will get etc etc etc..
i havent gotten a raise in 5 yrs with my current company (i have -never- gotten a raise, besides switching to different divisions within the same company with different methods of pay) im currently at .24 per mile and .09 per diem...and i havent found anything better but im home on the weekends for about 68 hrs, the mileage is the same every week unless theres a holiday (2650'ish miles paid)..actual mileage is closer to 2900...3 extra stops per trip, 2 trips per week (stops arent paid) although they do kick in about 100$ in extra pay/week most of the time. last yr (2012) i made a total of about 52k
i dont see nearly as many job postings (if any), and the ones i do see i wouldnt even call because they are obviously a joke even in comparison to what i have. people are being laid off, companies are downsizing, the economy is getting WORSE. the truth is that its very unlikely you will do better by quitting but if you do make sure you have the next job lined up in advance.
i dont think ill be getting a payraise this year as well, but im not quitting either. -
