Awww, thanks Pattyj ..... Right now, my BIGGEST concern is becoming a trucker. I'm thinking about training with Central because I've heard that they get you through the process in a couple of weeks .... I have a few concerns though ..... One is lifting the 75 lbs. testing ... and the other is going OTR training with a male trainer. I talked to the recruiter yesterday, and she said that if a female isn't available ... they'll send me out with a male. really????? :(

Anyway ..... Getting my CDL and getting some OTR experience under my belt is my main goal ....

Do you think you'll have trouble lifting 75 lbs?If so maybe start practicing before going to central.Concerning trainers, you may have to wait for a female trainer. If Central says you may have to go out with a male trainer then I would go elsewhere.Crete won't let the opposite sexes train because of the sexual harrassment issue. You might wanna give them a call. But if you plan on going to a company to get your CDL,I don't know if Crete has schooling. No company should force a student to go out with a trainer she'll feel uncomfortable with.

Well we might be getting a hitch in our giddy up... The amber check engine light is on, and staying on... Dash code is EEC61... Something to do with the DEF system (we think)... So trying to make it home, to put Matilda in the shop... That way we don't have to twiddle our thumbs and pay for a hotel room... Wish us luck!

Gosh it just seems to never end with these trucks now days, they like to keep the truck shops in money. Hope it can be fixed real quick.

Well from what we could figure, the lights have something to do with the DEF stuff... EEC61 is the dash code... Lights are out for now... So we will be taking some time (with the lane we are on, it will be a full week) and put Matilda in the shop to have them check it out... Preventive maintanance!! Plus this way while its in the shop, we won't have to pay for a hotel room as well!! PLUS visit with the Kids and Grand!! Timing is working out OK... It's a 5 wk (settlement) month, so missing one won't hurt TOO bad... And we needed some down time... Less than 24hrs per week for the last three months... While nice to get caught up $$ wise, is wearing! One other nice thing about this lane, it won't be hard to slip right back in... It starts 20 miles away from our house!! :biggrin_25525:

Well we got Matilda and got her fixed... Heading to pick her up now :)

Turned out it was a loose heater hose in the DEF system. Got the fuel gauge fixed, And a few other little things done.

Now we will have time to straighten out the inside of the truck, And we're getting things done at home! We so needed this home time!

NavigatorWife, GypseeWind and Bumpy Thank this.
