Nothing against you personally, but "conversating" is not a word. It is "converse or conversing" Also, orientate, commentate are not words either no matter how often one hears them or they get pointed out in some kind of online dictionary.

Next time you hear or see those words being used, please do us all a favor and correct them.

Also, I recognize the fact that I'm responding to a 2 year old post but someone will see this and hopefully word will spread.

Grammar and spelling cops are not needed or wanted on this forum. That behavior is reserved for college and when writing articles, papers, etc.

Sorry I'm just a country boy. We don't really don't care what English professors tell us. We just be ourselves and make up our own words. Thanks for your concern.

You know , I have been sitting here & reading things from one section to another , when I saw this area . I said once not to long ago that "TRUCKING IS A LIFE STYLE" & was laughed at ! I agree that A job is a place where one punches the clock , works 8 to 10 hours & goes home . They start & finish a day at HOME , having time at home for personnal things each & every day . There are a few things that qualify as "LIFE STYLES" TRUCKING , COMMERCIAL PILOT , OIL RIGGER , MILITARY , you get the idea , jobs where you are gone from home more than a couple days at a time . I am NOT talking about local trucking or line drivers , I am talking OTR (over-the-road) truckers . Us who get very little respect from anyone . I do understand that the quality of drivers is slipping alot lately , but for the most part OTR driving is not for everyone .
The market is being filled up with new drivers(newbies) or (2 week wonders) daily . I just read a post about a team that had a wreck & now are scared of driving , they were probably trained in nice weather & never drove a semi in winter weather . This happens alot , being trained in summer-time & then facing a winter driving solo . I think all new drivers should only be in training during the season change-over "fall into winter" or "winter into spring" so they get training on snow & icy roads !!
Wonder how many drivers remember when we had a dress code for driving ? Button-up shirts , long pants , patten leather shoes & bunks had to be made-up with only White sheets . Now-a-days the dress is Sweatpants(clean or dirty) shorts , flip-flops or sandals . And driving down the road with one foot up on the dash ! If a vehicle ever pulled out in front of these drivers , well I hope they have a fast reaction time ..
As for driving in the middle lane as a norm , never moving over for faster traffic or passing trucks . And parking at fuel islands for food breaks or taking showers . And regular parking is a joke also , had one guy in a rest area take-up 3 parking spots because he/she did not take a couple minutes to park straight !!
The attitude of alot of new guys is , "I am a truck driver , move over" or "don't tell me , I know everything there is to know about driving" funny because even after 29 years I still learn things about trucking . I am not or did not say all are the same or would I ever think that, but it takes more then a year to learn all there is to know about driving a truck & trucking !

Thank you , my rant is this section is done ! Drive safely & always watch the other guy !!
