I'll sometimes head for a Walmart after a load if I need supplies.
I'll sit there for a day or two as well, if I think a load is coming.

    But 4 days?
Sorry, but I'll drive 20-40 miles to the nearest truck stop if I need a shower that bad.
    Or good coffee.

And no one has ever said anything to me when I have.
    I don't send messages, either.
I just move to where I need to be.

    capthook Thanks this.

I would have moved had I known I would be here so long. I'm in the middle of nowhere. Every time I called my DM, he told me they should have something shortly so I should stay put. I am pretty sure they will screw me out of some layover pay. I finally got something for early tomorrow, it's only around 300 miles but at this point, I'm happy with anything that gets me out of here. Plus there's a fuel stop and I'll have enough time to take a long hot shower.

    Moosetek13 Thanks this.

Well, hopefully that puts you in a better area for loads.

    Dagger Thanks this.

day 1 at wally world i woulda stocked the truck, sent in tons of freeforms to my dm about getting me a load.. squeeky wheel ya know.
day 2 i would be calling in and 'telling' them there is a truck stop x-amount of miles away and im headng there to shower and that walmart asked me to leave.. dont take no as an answer, screw sitting anx waiting for some desk jocky to give you the ok to move... i never 'asked' them to move as a co. driver, i told them what i was doing.
its easier to ask for forgiveness that it is to ask for permission.
if they give any trouble just tell them a well rested and clean driver is a "safe" driver, that and you dont feel safe sleeping where your parked.

this is why i plan ahead on loads. i know exactly where im parking even after a 3am delivery, 2pm delivery...etc
    food for thought

I'm finally getting out of California!!! I took a load up to Red Bluff, and then another from there to W. Sacramento. They then shot me another preplan that will take me up to the Seattle area. Hey, things are looking up. ;^)

    Zukimart and scottied67 Thank this.

It's either going back to California or somewhere east. I'm hoping east...that way I can swing through Post Falls, Idaho and hang out at home for a night.
