After rebuilding the engine, I put in a new coolant overflow tank, since the old one seemed to be leaking. Now though, the driver's side of the tank fills up with coolant and drains it to the ground. Then, I have to add coolant to the passenger side of the tank. Cummins evaluated the situation with a dyno test and vigorously claimed nothing was wrong with the engine. But, regardless of what they say, I find the engine runs warm, and the coolant tank needs a frequent refill especially on warm days. Maybe though, the coolant tank chambers aren't returning the overflow to the primary chamber somehow?

try a new radiator cap. if the cap doesn't hold pressure. water usually flows into the overflow and keeps flowing. the engine will also run warmer. for 2 reasons. the cap doesn't hold pressure. and your losing water.

once the engine cools down then it's sucked back into the radiator.

try a new cap and go from there. it's the cheapest and easiest thing to try.

Funny as it sounds I have seen a bad air compressor do that. The way to tell if it is the air compressor is to see if the cooling system is still pressurized even after the tractor has cooled down(let sit for over an hour or two).
