    Talked to a recruiter today, she said that since i live in MI I would need a passport. I suspect it is the same if your home state adjoins Canada

    you may want to consider an enhanced drivers license, it allows you access into Canada without the need for a passport. It was not hard for me to obtain one from the Michigan Secretary of State. Check with the recruiter.

    It works out cheaper to get a passport card $50 for the card around $15 for the photo good for 10 years

    Too much info on the enhanced license for me. I'll stick with the tried and proven passport!
    Yeah, I know I'm old fashioned, fear monger, whatever....but I really don't trust our government, especially after obummer just today took the first steps to try and rape our second amendment!

    on Roehl's web site it lists requirements for orientation: CDL with haz mat and a passport
