Example Towns on US 95 in Idaho, white bird, new meadows, council... include the town in your route -
I purchased the lifetime map update for my 710.
(huge download)
After updating, I now have a vertical blue line on the right side of my screen.
It was not there before.
Was this caused by the update?
Very annoying, especially since this unit has been in twice for warranty. -
Something I've noticed with my 720....a really remarkable number of typos.
Leaving the "p" out of the word "Bypass" (not all the time)....and the latest....I was in PA, and noticed Jill (or JoAnne, or Julie, or whatever her name is) was sounding quite Italian all of a sudden.
Lo and behold....I was in Pennsylavania. Yup. Penn-syl-a-vania. Has the same rhythm as "hasta la vista". Not a big deal, but just another symptom of a society that really doesn't give a crap any longer.
As an aside to my previous statement....we are purchasing a house. The seller disclosure sheet that is required in the state of SC was prepared by the local board of realtors. Our agent told us, flat-out, that she was embarrassed to hand us this thing because it was rife with errors, and the board did not want to take the time to correct them. Misspellings, syntax errors, even #18 missing in the list of items.
But they just couldn't be bothered to fix it.
It's a DGAD society. You can figure out what it stands for. -
On to the 710 - My pet peeves with the 710 are 1: The 'turn here' screens that pop up and tell you to take the exit for I-40 South, or I-81 East. (You tell me what's wrong with that). And 2: The 1 mile long 'turn here' screens that pop up and obscure the speed display. I rely on that speed display because it's more accurate than my truck speedo. That should be visible at all times.
edit: One more thing that I keep meaning to mention.
Harrisburg, PA, I-83, Harrisburg Expressway towards Hershey. At the I-83, PA 322 split, the GPS will not alert you that you need to take the left one-lane exit to remain on I-83; it will happily allow you to continue straight onto PA 322. Once it's too late to do anything about it, THEN it starts yelling at you about being off-route. Of course, there is nowhere to turn around for about 8 miles after that. TWICE this happened to me before I burned it into my head. This needs to be fixed.48Packard Thanks this. -
Might be the screen.
