Yea it just depends on where you live. if you can go to a private cdl school you won't have to be tied down with any one company. i can't recomend any company as i have no experience with them i am going to start school monday. i had to go through company sponsore d training. google company sponsored training you will find what your looking for read through the threads here as well there is so much information

millis is the best deal ive heard of that has a good reputation. the questions to ask are...

how long a contract will i be obligated to (millis is 1 year)
how much per week will i be charged once i start driving (millis is $25 per week..total of $1300 over the 1 year)
if i dont fulfill the contract, how much will i owe (millis also contributes a certain amount per week toward the cost of training, so you owe whatever balance remains)

i have no personal experience with millis, this was told to me by another person posting here. in general, i would recommend going to a private school over a company school. some finance the tuition, so you can find one that charges nothing up front. i went to c-1 in indianapolis...they would finance everything if necessary. but if you are dead set on a company school, ask the above questions to get a decent comparison of any you are considering. and i agree...under NO circumstances would i EVER consider working for either cr england or crst. both have horrible reputations. dont take my word for it. read through 100 posts about england, id be surprised if you told me you found more than 2 or 3 good ones out of the 100. same goes for crst.

Im going thru conway truckload they have a program they send you through it. They pay the majority of the school and then take some out of your check each week.
