OK so I'm finishing up school here in NC the first of march and am trying to decide on a good company that hires recent grads. Does anyone have any good ideas? I would really like one that would send me over time to every state.
Good OTR starter companies

There are tons of posts with this exact question. Do a little research in this forum posted at least once a week. Look through them and you'll probably get more answers than you want.

In NC you'd do yourself a favor to check out Epes based out of greensboro. they won't run you all 48 we only run east of the mississippi but it's a good place to start if you want to get that time in the seat and then go somewhere else that runs all 48 but you might just stay here too..... good pay ( i made mid 40's first year ), good and well maintained equipment, nice bonus to run north of DC, home every weekend, good trainers that are on their game and very family oriented. you'd do alot worse than epes that for sure. it isn't a perfect company i haven't seen one of those yet or we'd all be there lol and we do deal with our issues from time to time but they're smaller and alot less than alot of the other companies you read about on here day in and day out. if you have specific questions pm me i'd be gald to answer them. been here 19 months now and can't see going anywhere ekse unless some dream job just drops out of the sky into my lap

Not to be rude, but exactly. Someone starts a thread with this title everyday. Good luck with your new endeavor.

Look for good reefer or flatbed companies that run 48 states. Check the websites for the hiring areas and running areas. System Transport runs 48 states & Alaska, check for hiring area. Also, get your hazmat, tanker endorsements along with a passport & TWIC. Eventuallly, you may get on with a tanker/hazmat company running 48 states and make some real good money also. Stay away from any lease to own programs until you've been driving a couple of years. A company named National Carriers has been running ads lately for 48 state & some recent grads on this forum stated they were offered jobs with them. Melton Truck Lines is one to check, sometimes they hire recent grads. Tribe Transport runs 48 states, Canada, Mexico. Try them with an online application. Two more to apply with are Interstate Distributor and Navajo. You don't really have to start with a so called starter company; try other avenues as I listed also.

Thanks I'll look into those as well

Some will say they want experience, but apply anyway. Sometimes the experience required on the website is to weed out drivers that are less motivated to even try. I read something on here about a company, Buel Inc., that runs teams from the Carolinas to the Northwest. Don't know anything about the company, so can't recommend it.
