If you're going from GP to Edmonton, and the roads are in questionable conditions, you are still much better to go down hwy 43. There's only 2 climbs that might give you trouble. Big smoky hill 20 mins out of GP and Iosegun near fox creek.

Jeez that last hill going into GC from GP is nasty. GP to Edmonton is nothing compared to GP to Edmonton via Grande Cache/Hinton.

Edmonton to Grande Cache is no problem, the road between GC and GP can be a problem depending on the weather. This guy sounds unfamiliar with chains. Probably hauling really light loads compared to some of us.

Yeah, it was pretty ugly yesterday. It was hard to see where the road ended and the ditch started... as a few drivers discovered.

The ATS driver in the ditch, what was the damage? Was it on an uphill grade or downhill grade? Empty or loaded? Right side up or upside down? Thx guys

If your going to be running up here alot you might want to invest in some good tires.... I know when I was working for an outfit out of the states my American boss thought regular highway tires he used down there were fine up here. I almost got stuck in the stupidest places lol

The damage was that he was up past the axles in snow. Uphill, slight curve to the right. Empty. Wheels down.

I would say that he just wasn't paying attention and was too far to the right. Once his right steer dropped off the pavement he was snowbank bound.
