I wonder if Smith Transport hires owner operators?
-
They do not hire owner operators. And as far as the other post.If you're an experienced driver and like to run they will run you into the ground....
KingTrucker Thanks this. -
They do have nice equipment from what I've seen out on the road. For freight wagons at least.
KingTrucker Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info I will look into them some more

I Used To Work For Smith Transport.. It's A Good Company & They Treat You Like A Human Being.. The First Two Weeks Sucked But After Your 90 Days In, It Gets Better.. You're Up North ALOT!!! Their Customers Are Strict As #### & You Get A Million Paper Loads... They Have Effective Dispatch & It's A Forced Dispatch Company (Like Most) But You Will Have A Good Time There.. One Problem I Had With Them Is That You Get 72 Hours Max For Home Time & You're Under A Load.. That Sucks..

Does Smith have a Pet Policy?
-
Well, I'm really happy to see so many positives about Smith. It's been a loooooonnnnngggggg week -- I've been getting Brian ready since Wednesday.
Put him on a
to PA this morning -- he starts 2-1/2 days of orientation tomorrow morning
We are VERY excited (and ONE of us is VERY exhausted) !!!
He has been given a dedicated New England run, which is fine with him -- he doesn't mind driving NE. Besides, they pay their highest rates for these runs. I think it's either .44 or .45 cpm, can't remember right offhand.
Brian will get his
and first run Wednesday. Of course he has requested a Pete, but could end up with an F-liner. They're going to run him OTR through the week and have him home most if not all weekends. They'll schedule his return runs through or near our area of Southeast Connecticut so he can
the rig home. DessMan, he doesn't mind having only 72 hours for weekends, and he will accept all the miles they can pile on him.
He just gave me a quick call from the restaurant. Says his flights were fine and that he's all checked in at his
He will call again when he gets back to his room for the night.
Now I have to go through this Forum to find everyone's OTR tips on how make sure this
gets properly fed while he's away from home!!!
I pray it works out, and that he is / we are very happy

I Live In Connecticut Also... They Are Great With Getting Their Drivers Home.. But They Will Call You When Those 72 Hours Are Up..lol
