yeah butane, im excited to learn how to drive tankers and haul butane....it looks pretty cool, being able to unload stuff off a traincar. ill be with another driver for two weeks then on my own....i have the physical and drug screen, the road test, and paperwork tom...then tuesday morning be in star, nc at the railyard for a 4 hour safety class...yeah month long lol...i guess being able to get on means they liked somthinghe said the drivers usually bring home about 1600-1800 every two weeks which is fine by me...hell ill even take 1500 every two weeks....im looking forward to this and im stressing out about tom. i hope that lady in safety wasnt pulling my leg about the discontinued prework screen......

2wks training is what I'd put up with for employer, they also retrained the 18spd shift sequence for progressive shifting between hills on offroad sites. Is complicated but not at same time, I know that now it makes me more capable of using the engine/trans in all its capabilities. Company has an excellence philosophy when it comes to all parts of its operation,..and for this pays out at or near the highest wage level I'll ever see within transportation work...but they own most of all the facilities, off loading rail sites, pipeline and raw product....background screen with this place was more redundant than anything.... physical? Here it was blood chem screen, drug screen, cholesterol and triglycerides..audio..near and far sightedness..complete checkup beyond that DOT requirement....they did move rather quickly though, no complaints...the next go around not subject to much beyond basic DOT, whew.. I just freaked walking in the clinic door, the very next they are drawing a whole vial of the red stuff..and on and on
whoops, didnt mention the ekg? picture of heart working.. -
so do you work for kenan? and 18 spd? ive only ever driven the regular 10 speed.....whats an excellence philosophy?

apologize but this will be my last on this subject, no never for kenan, I don't see them out here anyways in the "hinterland". The only companies capable of owning facilities and all loading sites etc.. pipelines..refineries.. would be the prime players...BP and such...excellence is way of operating, where everyone is involved, everyday...its a way of doing things confident you have the best training, financial backing and equipment(all subjective but it is real here)...the rewards keep you there too..
PS:there is one petro hauler much like kenan in the states with an enormous footprint that is owned in part by an oil company,..have to do your homework on this one...just like me...off this thread, bye -

so i did my kenan road test today....i passed but it wasnt the best. they said the one thing i didnt do enough was down shift. i admittedly got into a habit while doing flatbeds of just slowing into a stop, and then putting it into second or third gear when stopped. i CAN downshift, ill just have to get into habit. I also grinded a few gears. I was nervous a bit, and i never was in a Mack before....im still training with another guy for a week or two, then they might have me do another test...ugh! and they said id be on 90 day probationary period....all this over downshifting! oh well, its easily correctable...

Okay, I had to check on yah, so here's what my father inlaw had me do to relax before and during golfing
(he was a High School All American in 2 sports) start just thinking a tune, something easy but a nice tempo
then just stay with that as you go through your motions. Its worked mightily for me on and off the course. I get that groove going everytime I'm preparing for a days work, 18spd, Kenworth, Peterbuilt, Mack, all the same. More gears the merrier.Repeatedly praised about my handling skills, shifting, and especially tight manuevering. little do they know it all starts with that little buzz of notes! Nothing too special, I know that, the results though are famous!!
