I have a load like that coming out of Norfolk, VA going to Wilton, NY. The paid miles were something like 150 less than the routed miles. I did some research on Google Maps and the atlas. The only route I could get to come close to the paid miles was using the Garden State parkway which is illegal for trucks to be on. My DBL fixed it and I would up getting like 30 miles extra.

I do 15 minute pre trip and 5 minute post trip and that seems to fine.

I talked to another dbl today and had a good conversation. The dbl's out of my OC seem to care anyway. I told him it had nothing to do with SNI except for the new sensor I hate that thing LOL he reminded me again the door was always open to come back. See if this company paid a little more it would be perfect place to work as soon as the new sensor gets ripped out of the truck. If SNI paid a little more and put APU's in the truck I think it could be a top ten to work at.

Schneider is not going to pay upkeep cost on APUs. They cut most extra cost out with the idle sensors.

This is where you have to be smart and choose your battles.....the paid miles would give you short haul pay.....the 80 more takes away that extra short haul pay....you may drive more miles.....but make more money at the short haul.....:biggrin_25525:

Not on that trip there, the extra 80 miles would be worth more. Short haul is only +2CPM for 201-300 miles.

yes, I didn't do the math, just making an example. Sometimes it is better to get "shorted" the miles because you actually make more.

I know they won't and they won't pay anymore either. It is what it is in the end I guess.

anyone else stay at the Rolling Hills Casino Truck stop about 30 minutes south of Redding? Really nice showers!!!! Free wifi and a pretty good buffet. Weird thing happened today, stopped and the truck just kept idling! For an hour! I think it would of kept idling if I didn't turn it off! Temps? About 72*F. SNI just gave me a pretty good pay out this week, I'm happy. Anyone know when we get a raise? I know they hired me on @ 0.27* a mile......

Very rare, though. The miles I quoted were from memory....and please note that I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning!
