The cam finally captured something worth capturing, another truck backing into mine while I had curtains closed...Although there was no dispute on who was at fault, it gave me the opportunity to try and figure out how to save a file from being rerecorded over, if possible...Does anyone else have this cam and can help me?....

Doesn't the place that you bought it from have a tech support line to assist with this kind of question? Would that not be the most accurate answer you can get, because cams can use different methodology and/or video formats and connectivity.

The ones I use plug right into my laptop via USB. I just copy the files by drop and drag. It saves everything my dash cams capture. Check the stuff that came with it and see if you have a USB cord. If you do its self explanatory from there.

Does it have an SD card? This is how I download files from my dashcam. It is actually a micro-SD so I have an adapter that will slide into my laptop. They also make adapters that plug the SD into the USB slot.

Then there should be a list of files in 7 minute, or so, segments. If it is the last file it will be easy to find. Or if it has correct time, the correct date and time of each segment should be listed there.

You should have Windows Live Movie maker on a new computer or you can download it for free. It can convert your video directly into Youtube, or you can compress, edit, add music, etc.

If you have the USB cable, usually you just plug that in and view the files as if it were a thumbdrive or external drive.
click on 'computer' and see what new drives it's showing...

The one I had used an SD card. I just plugged it into my laptop and filed the images/ video I wanted to my hard-drive then moved to more permanent storage with my Dropbox account on-line. That was until it fell of my windshield and I stepped on it. I am getting one of "Go Cams(?)" from Best-Buy next time around- 64Gb storage card- and will do the same thing with it.
