Finally able to get a minute to catch up on these Posts on here. I've been keeping pretty busy and haven't gotten on here in a few days. I did get my load delivered in Sumner as planned on Thursday. I was part of half the fleet there that morning Majestyk. I got one of the backhauls JD said I might get. I was given a Backhaul out of Wanatchee going to Laredo. Drove on over to that Backhaul in Wanatchee right after I left the Costco. Turns out there is a little truck stop next door to the shipper. Not much of a place but little store is open from like 5am to 10pm or so. I got parked in there and decided to go catch a movie at a really nice Movie place up the road about a mile and a half. Another Poly driver came in later that night and we both ened up getting loads going to Laredo. We have been running together and are running with you pretty much Majestyk. We ran into that back up you spoke of and just stayed there at the Stage Stop Friday night. Got rolling and are now at Green River tonight(Saturday). We've just been taking it easy since we are both running on recap hours. Wasn't time for a restart but we can get our loads down just fine if we keep a steady pace. Maybe I'll see you Majestyk but if not you be careful out there. Thanks again to you and JD for the info. on here. Always nice having some heads up from other drivers on here. Good reading your Posts and Take Care out there!![]()
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

Well hell, sorry I missed you guys at Green River. I stopped at that first TS off exit 160. Rolled down a new road for me today as I decided to take NM 371 down to I-40 instead of taking US491. A real nice drive with nearly zero traffic on it. The old truck starting losing power a little ways east of Albuquerque. I pulled her over and shut her down for 5 minutes or so and cranked her back up. Ran decently on my way to Santa Rosa but started puttering a little bit there. Don't know if it is a clogged fuel filter or something else. Got the old yellow triangle along with the ABS Module code and at times the Engine Warning light. Had one of the filters changed at the TA and hopefully that will do the trick until I can get her back to the terminal tomorrow. Going to get in a reset there as I will only have about 4.5 hours available for Tuesday. Need to get my big inverter installed along with some new batteries anyway.
jdrentzjr Thanks this. -
Made it back to the mother ship fine. I suppose the new filter they put in solved the problem I was having.

Got the old girl in the shop and hoping the will be done with all the stuff by tomorrow morning. Had three load offers for Wednesday, Dayton, TX, Mt. Juliet, TN and Kansas City, KS. I chose the KC one as I have been there twice before and it will likely give me the best chance to get back to GP in case I have to use a loaner truck. Hate switching over things.

I filled out an app a wk b4 Thanksgiving , a week after got a phone interview. 3wks later at least , I got a call to fly down.A wk later they call and my start day is 5 Feb. Several guys have stated here they take their time and are very thorough in the process , it's not like these companies that want you to be the 23 or 24 in orientation that week. -
wouldnt they just let you know if they are not hiring at the time when they tell you they received your app.?
-
I don't think they would say they aren't hiring simply because they may always have one or two positions to fill, and your application may be the one that's better than the rest.
I talked to an HR rep last week and was told there were only three open trucks at that time. Plus, last year's turnover rate was 12%. This translates into they are being extremely picky. So if your MVR or CSA is not almost squeaky clean, may not be worth your effort to send an application. Job history is not an issue unless it's excessive as they understand many otr recruiters/companies do bait & switch.
Good luck to all who endeavor to send in an application. I would encourage you not to give up & to resubmit an application every three months & stay in contact with HR.againstthewind Thanks this. -

Chemster i lost your email address..Email me if you dont mind mdtruker@yahoo.com.... I have a few more questions for you

I made it to GP late Saturday morning for fuel and to turn in paperwork. Then off to Rudy's BBQ for lunch with Chemster, elsriver, timbo and a new driver named Jim. Alawys eat too much when I go there. Afterwards I finished the run to Ballinger,TX to start a reset.
Made the delivery Monday at 0700 and as I was driving out of the customer I get a call from backhaul to roll back to GP. This was a little frustrating as I had called backhaul Friday morning and afternoon, leaving messages both times, wanting to know if I would be picking up a backhaul or rolling back to GP. If I had known Friday I was rolling back I could have put myself available for an outbound on Monday then instead of having to wait till Monday morning to do it. That would put me a little further up the board, and possibly in a position for a better load selection. Knowing there were drivers already waiting for outbound loads for Tuesday didn't help. So I figured it would probably be Wednesday before I left with an outbound.
Well, thank you Jesus, I got a call late Monday for the last load left for Tuesday. It was passed over by other drivers, but I was glad to get it. So now I'm sitting in Cheyenne,WY waiting for my 0730 delivery here tomorrow. Once empty I will go to Morrill,NE to reload going to Houston for a 1600 delivery on Saturday. Not great, but it beats a Monday delivery. More than likely I'll reload at Pol-Tex. If I do, and it goes back to GP, I will have 2800 miles for the week. Could be worse.........CRETE
