A recruiter gave the pay info today so I'd thought I would pass it along for others. Now this is for Regional Flatbed (OTR glass pays one cent per mile more). You have 3 weeks of training, the first week pays $500, and then your actual training pays $550 per week. Now I was told I will be away from home for 6-8 weeks. After that, your pay is .33 cents per miles, after three months of solo, it goes to .36 cent per mile and after 6 months it goes to .42 cents per mile. After that you get a .01 cent per mile yearly raise to max out at .48 cents per mile. I was told the regionals average 2300-2600 miles per week.

Also, regional flatbed is out one week, home 34-48 hrs. OTR glass is out 2 weeks home 2 days and OTR flatbed is out 2-3 weeks home 3 days. Hope this helps some students!

But when you get to Orientation, they will tell you that you just get 34 hours, just like everyone else. I don't think the recruiters are lying, I think they just don't know.

Otr flatbed gets 3days for 3 weeks. This is called long haul not otr. Most flat drivers are in the us division which is home most weekends for 34-48hrs. Then the glass division hometime varies with accounts. Reefer is like long haul flats on hometime. You got a green recruiter it sounds like.

I need to call my FM then, because I'm long haul and I haven't been given 3 days for 3 weeks. They obviously don't know who I "think" I am. :)

I would definitely say something if you are truly long haul and not us division. To my understanding its 1 day for every 7 otr with a maximum of 3 days at one time unless otherwise approved. If you are getting home every other weekend that might be why you are only getting 34-48hrs.

Ok I have read most of the threads including Heading to Little Rock (twice). Spoke with a recruiter twice and still am not sure of the schedule not that it matters that much but I like to know just how I am as a type A personality.

So arrive Sat and the orientation runs Sun 7am - ? then is each day till Wed? Then the securement training begins on that Thursday? and runs how long? Does it go thru all weekend? I have read anywhere from a few days to two weeks.

Then you get paired up with a trainer for three weeks min. This is all referencing flat bed student by the way.

Can anyone fill in the questions a little better? If not I will write that on my list for the recruiter.

    Thank you all

Yep, you got it. Straight into the Barn (Load securement) the day after final day of orientation when you receive your job offer. Barn runs right thru the weekend and into middle of the next week, I think Wednesday. Then you hang out there and wait for your trainer to pick you up.

First day or two it's 7 AM to ? is about right. After that I do believe we were done by five. That's how was years ago. I hope that helps. The only day off we had were Saturday.
