It is true that Panther is not hiring back previously contracted drivers at this time - not even the productive ones. And I'm done standing up for them when someone posts negative comments whether the statements are true or not. So feel free to have a day of it - I need the entertainment...

Exactly, Panther and others make the driver qualify through them before they send them to a fleet owner. Why is this? Do they not trust the fleet owner to hire their own drivers if they supposedly do not want anything to do with them. I bet all the paperwork is Panther paperwork and not the fleet owner because they want control over who is hired.
Panthers responsibility is to make sure the fleet owners they sign on are paying the drivers they provide to them if they are going to have control over the hiring process. Now I am sure their is something in the paperwork that absolves them from legal action if their fleet owners turn out to be a dud and does not pay their drivers but the drivers should be vetting the fleet Panther wants to send them to, to see what the history is just as much as Panther is vetting them to be a driver.

Panther assumed control over the hiring process and assigned driver to the non paying bum they contracted to run their freight, so Panther can be a co defendant in a failure to pay action.

I am sure any real business owners on here know that they have legal liability when it comes to anyone who does work under their direction.

All drivers who drive for fleet owners or o/o's does a all the app and paperwork threw Panther, now the only thing that's between a fleet owner and a owner is a contract but Panther lives by a golden rule where they don't get in between owners and drivers. There many good Panther fleet owners out there i'm not saying all fleet owners are bad there may be a few but my experience I only had 1 bad fleet owner during the time I was at Panther.I think the issue is they are not accepting prior drivers who left or change fleet owners at an x amount of time while driving for them.

i had a similar situation with panther that i am dealing with now and have been since july. i worked for an O/O leased onto panther. i had went home on home time in july. i lived in Athens ga my O/O lived in Atlanta ga. i got a call on sunday from the Owner of the truck. he said the truck got towed and hes not getting it out and i needed to look for a new job. ok no biggie. well panther reported an abandonment and termination on my DAC which is keeping me from getting another good trucking job. i fought the abandonment and it was taken off my dac. but at any time they can put it back on. and if i try to fight the termination they can keep it on and put the abandonment back on by simply saying yes we fired him and he left our trailer somewhere. when i was clearly on home time and had no possession of the equipment. so i dont know what to do. contact a lawyer? DAC is just killing the driving industry fast.

More likely getting a lawyer will help,as for hometime best place to leave a truck on home time is at a truck stop if about too. Most Pilot t/s allow trucks to be park for few days or a week as long you let the store manager know.I drive s/t but I leave it at a pilot about 70 miles where I live to be safe than sorry later.Yea Panther is doing a lot of changes over there it seems but don't waste your time on the EO forum all the Panther fleet owners will chew you up over there cause they don't want to hear the real truth.

Armin give it a rest. You have only been driving less than a year. You have been with what 2-3 companies? The problems lie within buddy.
