Hi! I've recently signed a lease with a bank and although my name is on the lease, and the lease says that i cannot cancel this lease or i will default. The company name is not on the lease the company name is on the truck(door of truck) and they do dispatch me work because i did apply with them as a owner operator. Im not making any money I've been driving for about 7yrs and only been a owner operator for 5mths. I was told 500 to 600$ a day. But thats not not that case my deductions are to expensive and this lease is $2000 a week.Just want to know if i can take this truck and go get other work at other owner operator companies??
This people are telling me that i shouldnt settle every day but if i dont i dont see even a dollar 600$ a week and I'm always in the negative. I do work everyday, if i have to but its still not paying off. This is not working out. Please HELP!!

From what im reading you can take your truck anywhere you like. What are your truck payments and what are the deductions. What type of trl you pull? Do you get any discounts? Need a little more info..

What is the term of your lease, 12 months?
Without seeing the actual lease, it does appear that you can take the truck anywhere you like.
Is it $500-$600/day gross revenue? Even if you are earning that, it is nowhere near enough to service the lease payment, fuel, maintenance, driver's wages, etc. Two-to-three times that daily figure is what you're going to need, at least. Even then, that lease payment, if correct, is way too steep, especially for a guy starting out as a lease-operator/owner-operator.
What kind of deductions are coming off your statement? Is the company directing the lease payments to the bank (did they arrange the lease for you), or are you paying the bank? -
Did he say 2000.00 a week lease? What year truck is that? Or is that truck and trailer? Still seems high to me.

2000$ a week???That's weekly payment for 4-5 brand new trucks. Anyhow,it's january, loads are rare and cheap,it's hard to make lot of money now.

Maybe he meant a month. I hope that was a typo!

My truck payment is $2000 a week and my daily deductions are $160 a day, Yeah we get fuel discount, depending on where u get fuel from indiana mostly, but beside that no other discount and its a 53 trl and volvo tractor, but i've been looking at lease and its looking like maybe i can leave. But i talk to the bank and they mentioned being in business with this company sales people.
But again my lease dont say anything about this company -
$2000 a month.Plus daily deductions

This is a very interesting Driver. Like the others have stated, can you give some more detail concerning your issue. As far as working every day, you must know that you will have to do what ever it takes, with the exception of running illegal. Eating at truck stops and hanging out in driver lounges should not even be an option. I am not scolding you, I just want to know more of the "hows, wheres and whens" of the workings with the company you are leasing with now.

What year, make, model of truck and trailer? Is it a hybird? Sorry but I looked into a brand new volvo and trailer myself and if wasn't a lease it was a reg. bank loan and it was 1190.00 a Month. Anyway there might be a lease break on the contract but with a fee.
