nah I was cool with staying in the truck. We were parked at a pretty nice Flying J with a Denny's. I got y laundry done and the trainer left their rewards card so I didn't have to pay for a shower.

my recruiter was Omar Aragon, seemed like a good guy and the information he gave me was mostly accurate. There was some confusion about how orientation worked around Christmas but it worked out. I ha a period where I had to delay going to training by 2 months and when it got close to my expected class date I had troubles getting ahold of Omar that almost saw me go to a different company. Glad I didn't. Once I was back on his radar I didn't have a problem and now I'm on a truck.

Yeah... The only money we keep in there is just for covering a week home (or when the truck is down)... They don't say it very loud, but it costs you to get your own money out of there... Found that out the hard way.

Sounds like something central would do. I want enough in there to cover a set of drives and PM. Other than that I have my own accounts.

We get service elsewhere... Not real confident in some of their shop people... Good for you though having your own accounts!

You can pay at other places (ta and freightliner come to mind) with your maintenance act, and if you're out of network I believe you can get a comcheck cut from your maintenance act to cover it.

But it will COST you to do that... Central charges you $20 to access YOUR money!! It's fine if you don't have the restraint to hold your own money aside, and save it for maintainance ONLY. Then having it harder to reach is a good thing... I just don't like having to pay $20 (no matter the amount) to access my money. Learned that one early on, and have a flat amount going into 'their' maintainance account now, just to cover down time static costs, and tires... Kind of like a vacation account... LOL!

My co-driver and I also kept some of those heater meals handy, the ones that come in the orange box, and have the food, water, and the pouch for heating in the box. They're not great, but when you're stuck somewhere ,eating cold soup for a couple of days, they hit the spot. We'd curl up in the bunk together and share one, always made us feel better.
