I have been rehired :biggrin_25515:. I left Prime about 18 months ago because I was called back for my other job which is PLC programming. I have missed being out on the road and really look forward to coming back.
Since I only Have about 7 months experience on the road I am coming back as a B1 seat and need to go out with a trainer for 15K miles.

Any trainers on here who are interested in an old guy who follows directions well please send me a PM.

Congrats :) That is cool as I am a web developer and wonder if I ever left trucking to program could I come back. I hope to keep trucking from now on but have a backup plan just in case.

It always good to have something to fall back on. As for training, I am out of the game. But there are quite a few trainers here that are looking for students. You should not have any problems getting one once your here!
    Good luck and welcome back!

I left electrical engineering- more correctly, my career became a "tradable commodity"- for trucking. Programming is more like pulling teeth without Novocaine, and turning bean counters into roadkill was becoming a delightful daydream.

    :biggrin_25523:

Welcome back to the insanity of it all!

Well I loved programming until they throw away all of the previous working knowledge of efficient code and replace it with something that works the same that you have to spend months studying to memorize all of the renamed functions. Once you learn that they throw it away and create something else. I got tired of feeling like I was in college every day of my life and wasn't sure when my skills would immediately become obsolete due to the new "hip" code! I rather drive where the basic knowledge remains the same... just get there on time.

Just went and picked up my bus ticket for Huntsville, AL to Springfield, MO.

It cost $173 because Prime only buys refundable tickets (I wonder why LOL).

I wanted to rent a car for a day a bring all my stuff with me. Prime will only reimburse you for 10Cents per mile. Which for me would be $50. I personally think this is stupid. If they are willing to send me on the bus for $173 thats what they should give you if you want to go another way...

If you fly, they'll give you the $173 against the price of the ticket. 10 cpm sounds like IRS reimbursement rates for business use of a car.
