Ok I'm sure this has been asked millions of times but I need help. My choices are limited. 2011 freightliner Cascadia w/ isx engine. 13 speed or 2012 780 Volvo w/ d13 engine and a 13 speed. Not a o/o just a lease driver for Schneider. I've heard the horror stories about Volvo but not the newer models. Want the room but as a lease driver can't afford huge repair costs. Help please.
What truck to get freightliner vs volvo

Road Killer, Marky84 and Vernita Thank this. -
I did read your story and Volvo. If you had spent anytime in a 780 you wouldn't be asking.

Ty I really want the Volvo but the stories out there are scaring the hell out of me
Road Killer Thanks this. -
If it didn't have the D13 I'd say Volvo any day of the week.

Hey guys, I've had only Internationals and years before that, GMC's, so I can't contribute. But I think it would be helpful to the poster to give the reasons behind your advice. WHY would you choose one over the other. Is it just the D13 motor that one of you doesn't like, meaning a D14 is good, etc. What don't you like about the motor, ride, service, etc. What's the basis for your preference?!
To the OP - What stories have you heard that are scaring you away?
Thanks <off soapbox>Road Killer and Vernita Thank this. -
Get a 780 with a Cummins and a 13.. rear-end and HP are up to you.
Road Killer, Vernita and gerardo1961 Thank this. -
My issue is just the Volvo engine. Regardless what model or year. Too expensive to repair. Not enough shops that can repair are just a few problems.
Road Killer and Vernita Thank this. -
Egr problems with Volvo engines valve problems but the costs compared to the cost on mycascadia is outlandish. Electrical and sensors going on. The harness alone I here is quite expensive. Just need to do more research. I do love the ride drove volvos for years but was company then. Ty
Road Killer Thanks this.
