I have both manual and auto trucks. They both have merits and are good for certain things. I find myself looking forward to driving the auto in the summer. Why not be lazy? I really enjoy not having to shift sometimes.

To make an assertion of competency, or lack thereof, based on the transmission installed is ludicrous. Probably the same folks that get those gear shift extensions that nearly touch the roof.

We have both auto and manuals. It can vary from day to day as to which I drive. I could care less so long as the cash is direct deposited each Friday. As far as I know driving an auto hasn't hampered my ability to father children to this point........

Try shifting a 97 freightliner cabover. We still have a couple we use as extra trucks. We've had guys quit over having to drive one for a trip. I'll drive one if my truck goes into the shop. Shifter on these makes regular trucks seem like caddillacs

Are u shiftting me ? Why woulndt u want to learn how to shift ? Sure u can shift right now but u need to master it. These new autos are awesome I love mine but the day a better paying job comes knocking believe me I wont fail my roadtest on a manual. I will shift perfectly. Also my auto was in the shop for a few days and the only spare truck was a Pete379 and I shifted the shiftt out of it then I hopped back on my auto not b cuz I hate shifting but because of truck weighs. The 379 is almost 3k heavier than the cascadia. Always have to be adjusting my weigh and shiftt..

At least no one started comparing their shifter sizes and saying my shifter is bigger then yours or is that to come still later on?

Totally read the topic wrong. Shifting, shifting. Well, I've got nothing, let me know if it changes to what I thought it said.
