Anyways, kudos on the Rain-X
And you get what you pay for in wiper blades. Unfortunately, the US used to be #1 in the manufacture of steel and........ you guessed it, rubber. Cheap chinese blades are, well, cheap.Chinatown Thanks this. -

We run winter blades all year long. They are a bit stiffer than the regular blades keeping them on the windshield.

passport220 Thanks this.

I buy the wally stock anco type. blades never last long so why go premium? some are better, but my anco does the job. I replace every 3-5 months anyway. I like the type that flexes. like when the wiper is going one way so is the rubber & when going the other way the rubber reverses course. some wipers stay so stiff that it skids across the windshield & only clears one direction.

rather than going with a expensive blade i just change them frequently. nothing works better than a new wiper blade, the road grime wears wiper blades quickly i normally go threw 3 sets in the winter and 1 set in the late spring will normally get ya threw the summer sometimes there will be a second set in the summer but i just carry extra blades with me and if they start not working well i just swap them out.

I do the same thing ez_rider.
When they start to smear, I change them. I hate having Rain-X on the windshield too. -
It also helps in the winter to not use the defroster as much. Turn the floor and mid vents on a Luke warm to cold setting and the snow shouldn't melt to the window. It will prevent snow buildup on windows and keep your washer tank from being empty at the end of the day.
