    Ok, Thanks for the info.
So if the route is not a STAA route, even if it is a designated truck route, allowing 53/102 trailers the TND will not route u along this route? Should this not b changed as it adds unnecessary time and distance to a trip. U should not have to change the settings on the unit to plan a trip that is perfectly legal at the present settings and some users would not even know to change these setting and would just go the long way around and waste time and fuel, and by changing the trailer settings on a long trip might get u into trouble at some other place where there might actually b a restriction in place where u should not b going. Kinda makes plotting a long trip a hassle if u need to research the whole route in advance for legal trailer length.

    Thanks
    John

AZ DOT has it as an Non-STAA route. Rand can only go by what is put out by states. In other words Rand cannot change the Restriction, only AZ DOT can.

I know it is a pain and I know AZ routes OS loads down US-93 by permit. But, that permit is issued by AZ DOT.

You would have to contact AZ DOT to request they change it to a STAA route.

    53'/102" - STAA
    48'/96" - Non STAA.

If you put in 53' then you are correct it will not route you on US-93.

    Thanks,
    Mark

TND does not know if you have a permit or not. So, if you do have a permit, then change the TND to 48'/96" and it will route you on it.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I keep my 500 plugged in all the time but noticed if I unplug it, it shows a full battery but then shuts off within 3 mins. Do the batteries go bad? If so, link to buy replacement please.

Mark I bought a TND510 back in November and just got the free map update a couple of weeks ago.Did the update and found the new maps a real improvement, but after a week the unit freezes up a lot.Sometimes every hour.Is this related or just a coincident.Any thoughts.Thanks.

The charger cord to my 710 fits very loosely in the unit. The red light on the side flickers on and off if I wiggle the plug.
Can I modify the plug so it fits tighter? Squeeze it? Spread it?
