I thought you had a doubles endorsement? Maybe you should get that....would make it in one trip, ya think? Is she hot? haha had to ask since we don't have many women from EPES on these boards, as of yet! Well....got a ticket for running a scalehouse yesterday! haha YEP....had a 370 mile empty run....going down 30 in Ohio just jammin' out, not paying too much attention to the road signs, then all of a sudden...BAM....saw an onramp....saw trucks pulling in....saw a cop running to his car....yep...pulled over immediately! lol He was actually laughing at me and said....just turn around, scale out and come see me...haven't seen this in a while! Then today, going down 15 south in KY Got stuck on a hill pulling 43k and had to pull the breaks for an hour to wait for a salt truck to clear the roads. Just couldn't make it up those ice roads with the weight! lol......the weather isn't all that bad, for me...it's just 30-40 mph on an elog will kill your time and make you look lazy as hell! Did 399 miles in 10 hours driving time.....that's NOT counting the 1.5 hours on off duty waiting on the salt truck! haha Then got a message that my DM went home due to "Inclement Weather"! DUDE!!!!!!!! I DID 3 7% GRADE HILLS (with interaxle ON, in 5th gear, with engine break) in THE ICE!!!!!! AND YOU WANNA GO HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????? Ok Flying....let's hear it now? lmao

welcome to my club...I've been known to be a bad influence! lol Are you outta food too?
-
That's why I park it until I can run the speed limit. 40 MPH at .40CPM is $16.00/ hour. My company will pay me $15/ hour to park it and not risk the truck. Weather delays generally mean more money for me.

nice work if you can get it. you guys hiring? lol only half in jest i say that.....don't know how i'd feel pulling a tank
#### Dinky you just have this habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong times don't you?
yep had to hit the walmart after that hurry up and wait deal in bessemer the other night......i was 36 minutes over by the time they finally got me unloaded and there was a supercenter 7 miles away so i listened to the babysitter yell at me for being out of hours and ran on over there. parked and got some food and a few cleaning supplies and crashed......and of course forgot the babysitter doesnt change time zones with my phone and gps so got up the next day an hour early to depart looking at the log, which of course was exactly WHEN i was supposed to depart given the time change. i always do that.
my appointment at bessemer was for 2000 and i showed up at 1945 5th in line.....another epes first in line and the gaurd finally comes and gets me and had me go around the other guys to get in my door and then he finally pulls into the door beside me....sometimes you just really shouldn't roll down the window to talk lol.....what a whiny all rules all the time mr by the book complainer.....but also one who showed up 5 hours early for a 2200 appoinment and was blocking the gate cause there wasn't anywhere to go.....and out of hours before his appointment....he was pissing and moaning about not having time to do the run and getting there ealry and being out of hours......i didn't really want to hear it.....i had enough time to get there, got there on time, and then had enough time to get unloaded and out of there and parked if the cons had been on the same schedule....this guy committed to and took a load he knew he couldn't make....and then wanted to whine about it being dispatches fault....it wasn't their fault, you knew you couldn't make the trip and said yes anyway.....it's on you now don't whine to me about dispatch....if i don't have the time or the hours don't work out i decline the preplan....and those are the only ones i turn down....but will in a minute....and never had any repurcussions for it or any cut in my miles for saying no if they give me something i can't do based on hours.....
at least i didn't get stuck in the snow and ice like that last week Dinky.....although could have just as easily been as bad as things went downhill on the way in last week.......gues it's a week and a half ago now......luckily we all kept moving and nobody stopped on the hills once that one backup where another guy couldn't get up on 81....once we got down to 581 it was the hard part.....but fortunately we all were down in 1st or 2nd, locked in, and slowly but constantly moving and nobody got stuck.....and helped alot all the lights were flashing yellow and we didn't have to stop for the signals......but it was slick and there were a few times it was questionable we'd keep moving.....not too many places once you get through roanoke on 581 onto 220 to just pull over and shut down you're kinda committed at that point but didn't really get the worst until i got to that point.....then it cleared a little and once i crossed into NC it was horrible.....but in a long train and plenty of tire tracks to stay in.....Last edited: Jan 26, 2013

can I please point out something that REALLY PISSED ME OFF TODAY at the yard! Wife's car is broke down, so she, and little dude have to pick me up/drop off...told wife I needed to hit wash bay to rinse off my truck off of all the dang salt so I could put our new stickers on when I go back out. Well, pull in behind somebody that was already in there(an O/O) and asked how long he'd be.....he said gimme about 5 minutes. NO PROBLEM! Just told him, I'd sit behind him until he was done then pull out of his way and go behind him....you know MAKE A LINE!!!!!! haha So sitting there for five minutes, this guy walks up, acting like he owns the place(older than dirt) says...what are you doing? I said, I'm in line behind this guy to rinse my truck down, wife and kid are waiting for me outside! He said, I've been waiting an HOUR to wash my truck and here you are blocking me! Those guys over there get paid to wash your truck go see them. Hate to be an ahole but I told the guy to go #### himself!!!!! This guy in front of me has only been in the bay for around 10 mins. and was almost done...if you've been waiting that long...you go have the "guys that are getting paid" to wash your ####### truck! I'M IN LINE!!!!!!!!! he starts pulling this racial black #### on me...so I have to show him the same thing by saying...oh he's a "white guy" I guess he won't wash your truck like a ####### "black guy" would, eh? #### YOU!!!!!!!!! then I hafta interupt the washguy to rinse my truck down, real quick....while the washguy saw all of this, said....that guy was giving me #### too! What is up with all these morons here today! I REALLY CAN'T STAND some of these attitudes i've seen by some of our fellow drivers! Actually, I've heard, sdaniels can agree, trucking (brotherhood-wise) has gone WAY DOWN! while I got my truck FULLY WASHED (yeay! haha) this guy just went back to his truck and sat there, didn't even PULL INTO THE WASHBAY! Next time I see him and he pulls that crap...sorry....gotta use my tireknocker on his tirehead!!!!!!!!!!! lol I'm actually serious...

You get used to the surge and it settles down out on the road. Cresting hills it feels sort of like a roller coaster where the cars behind you start pushing downhill. Its like dropping an anchor going up. My terminal hires a couple of new guys every year usually early in the year before business picks up in the spring. We have very low turnover and they are choosey.

well...2013 can really kiss my white ###! lol The whole week I was in the dealership....yep, they didn't replace my injectors properly! Up here at the Chester yard....was wondering where the leak was coming from. It's either here FOR A WEEK, again, or back to Greensboro for a day! I'll take the day! lol Why is it that this time of year is more stressful for me than Christmas? Oh yeah, because I'm broke until I get my tax refund, I forgot! lol

Maybe you should ask for one of those fine volvos hehehe
Or maybe I could interest you in a brand new freightliner with a automatic in it? lol -
I think they take students NOW. Worked there about a year. Small company GREAT freight & BIG benefits that topped JB and matched Schneider. Great trucks/trailers but bad people in OPS. Keep getting calls from a Denver, CO based consulting firm they hired to do exit interviews. They are trying to figure why they bleed drivers despite all the perks. I quit last year but think they're salvageable. They need to cut some dead weight in OPS and get people in there that know how to run things before they become extinct. I would go back in a NY minute if they got 'it together'... but then again I don't poop then go back & step in it.. LOL

umm.............errmmmmmmmmmm....no thanks! lol Gotta LIVE LOAD here in Williamsburg! 5 hours, so far! I just wanna get my truck back and put in Detroit Diesel shop. All they hafta do is reinstall two inverters and make sure they are installed properly! Should be outta here in an hour, so they say! Then, had to bobtail and get loadbars, cause all I have are straps. This day/week is getting ####tier and ####tier! Looks like I'm gonna go home for tonight and tomorrow and have truck back by Thursday(crossing fingers)....that "loaner" deal isn't a good deal.....having to move all your stuff out, it's just a total pain. Why my DM doesn't understand this. I just tell them....move into a different house for a week, then move right back into your old house the following week! THAT SUCKS! haha
