I have been running the Wilson 2000 and it works fine.

After upgrading my radio to a Galaxy DX94HP i decided to order a MM-9 and give it a try.
    Should i expect better receive?
I have no problem talking skip with the Wilson but receive could be better.

Also is anyone running one on a ProStar?

Kind of interested if i will be able to tell better performance.
The Wilson antennas have always done a good job.

    Thanks for any input.

Yes,sure will. I should get it Thursday and will install it this weekend.
I have to stop and get a heavy duty stud for my mount before i get in for the weekend.

I would not recommend the gumdrop
Mount from wilson. They look heavy duty
but i have had bad luck with them.
I use the stainless steel one with good
    results.

    EZ Money Thanks this.

Thanks,That was what i was going to buy.
I noticed Pilot had the big SS stud the other night but i left my rewards card in the truck.
    I will grab one tomorrow.

This is similar to what Pilot had,

the one key thing about antennas that everyone overlooks is how much of the whip has an unobstructed exposure to the open air. that is where all the receive comes from and you want as much of the whip in the open air as possible.

personally, i think the monkeymade antennas are a huge ripoff.

I got it for 65 bucks so much better than what the CB shops sell them for.
    It came yesterday evening.
What a beast of an antenna. It may be just too tall for my mirror mounting unless i lean it way forward...That looks like crap in my opinion!
Plus how much tilting it forward until it messes up performance?
I will have to mount it and do some measuring this weekend but i think my Wilson will end up staying.

I've always been told don't tilt it more than 15 - 18 degrees.

    Thanks Mike,
Spent the day yesterday trying to set SWR....My Wilson was 1.2 and the MM i can't get under 2...
I got so frustrated i put the Wilson back on.

I used an old 102 whip and cut it to 49 inches, same as the MM length then started trying to tune it.
Ended up cutting 6 inches at least off just to get down to 2.

I did not want to cut the MM whip because it may be going back!
Solid built antenna and it is heavy......almost too heavy for mirror mounting.
    Probably 3 pounds or more.
