How much did you pay for your CDL? And you're just walking away? There are plenty of good non driving jobs, but you'll still need experience for those too. No way around it.

I dont get the issue, I hear from all the magazines I read like Landline and CCJ that there is a shortage of quality drivers, there should be plenty of work out there.

Its just not for me the only time I go to drive is when I got in at republic services but they let me go because I didn't know my way around Ohio so they pulled me after I think was my third month working there and said sorry its not going to work out and I just sat down and did some thinking its not for me I like hands on work didn't like to sit there driving all day thats why I give to men and women who can do it

Try the water haulers running to the wells. Home daily, hands on, most use tri-axle straight tankers and it's hourly.

Go to Norfolk Souther.com
CSX.com and see what they are hiring in PA. You have to be willing to work weird hrs, safety is stressed and be willing to stay outside. Go to RRforums and find out how you interview. Keep on, never give up. My nephew is making (90)K as a conductor. PA is a good RR state but be willing to move to MN if you have to. -
BTW/a CDL gives you a leg up at RRs.

yeah but you got a lot of competition for those rr jobs. And depending on the position, you get alot of layoffs also.
