I took an early retirement from a local government about two years ago and tired of doing nothing. I am considering trucking school for a second career. I want to go to a local trucking school and found ATDS is only about 40 miles from where I live if not closer. I have seen some real good post about this school but none that are new/recent. Is the ATDS Fort Worth school still as good as it was about one to two years ago? Has there been changes in teachers? Tell me what you know? Cost? Job placement? Anything is appreciated.

If it was anything like the ATDS that was here in Ardmore OK, and if it is run by the same people STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!! ALWAYS do company research FIRST and see what the companies that you are interested can suggest and recommend for training... ATDS here was a welfare rip off school run by corrupt morons who where here to take the money handed to them from grants from various places.. They are closed here now.. but have moved and opened as the Arbuckle trucking academy or some nonsense.. be VERY wary and call the companies first and even apply to them!!

All the year old information I found about the ATDS, Fort Worth, was really good. Possible they have changed or Fort Worth location is better for some reason. Would love to find out which is true.

I was not aware of any other location outside of their Elm Mott, TX location. I just graduated their program this month (January). They are an outstanding school with excellent instructors! Can not say enough good things about them. They are a PTDI certified school which will open up a few more options post graduation. Contact Sue Hunt or Susan and they can tell you everything you need to know. Please let me know if you need their contact info.

Hello, can you provide any information on job placement help you may have received from ATDS? Thanks -
They have information on several companies. There will be recruiters that come in from various companies during your training and that can give you some insight if they would be a good fit for you. But I recommend researching the companies your interested in and fill out an application and letting them know your attending ATDS. This will help you get a few prehires and a company to start with after graduation. Susan can help you fill out the applications properly. So wait until you start there before filling any out. Having a good work history and no felonies is a big plus to getting a prehire but every company has their own policies on that. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I hear ATDS is alot better than some of the major name truck schools. ATDS is in Elm Mott, Texas like 4 miles north of Waco, Texas..
Waco is one hour south of Dallas, Texas... I am considering going to ATDS but i am looking at other schools across Texas to suit my needs. -
I talked t an executuve at Schneider and he recommended it when I asked about Texas schools.
