Hello all! I have been browsing this sites postings and would like to say thanks for all the positive information and feedback. I am looking at starting a new career as a driver in the near future and am researching CDL schools and companies.
I am leaning towards Prime Trucking as a place to train and work. I live in Northern CA and am curious about opportunities in their Western Regional route as well as how home time will work as OTR.
Thanks in advance for the help! Safe travels!

Prime has an excellent training program, but don't know about their hometime, etc.
There are some other good companies to research with terminals on the West Coast and regional opportunities. The also have a CDL school they recruit from Drivers Training School

A few, of many, with Western Regional that hire from CDL school:
    trans-system
    National Carriers
    Interstate Distributor
    System Transport

Welcome and you might want to check out Prime Springfield Edition. There is a lot of great information the Silenteagle took time to spell out in great detail.

Snowman1 - Thanks for your input. Actually, I have read Silenteagle's entire thread, lots of great information. I also read another posting on a different site by a guy that went through Prime. It covered his trip to SpriMo, all training right through to gaining his hours and CDL and receiving a new truck upon completion. Very informative!
After reading these two posts is the reason I am leaning toward Prime. I am also considering a local school so as to be near home for that month, then hire on with Prime or Schneider. I need to decide if I want/can afford to pay out of pocket first.
I very much appreciate any and all comments and information the good people on this forum can supply. Thanks again!
