kcf; NOW I ASO LIVE IN FL ORLANDO now its true that there is not much comming out of fl but it never has been a trucking state bt i can recomend a good company to lease to although i dont lease any more but at one time i did lease one of my trucks to these people.LANDSTAR
NOW landstar is a diffent kind of company they dont have a dispatch system you have to pick your own loads , but all loads are own ther web site and when you sign own you get your own pass word so you can go to the web site at any time and there loads are plentyfull and there rates are good . and you can pick whatever type of trailer you want to pul your choice.
further more you can run as hard or as little as you want again your choice, your business and that the way landstar has it set up it is your company do what you want you dont have to ask anybody for a load when your ready to load just log on to the wbb site and look at all the oads and pick the one you want commit to it and its yours at the time you commit to it your advance is loaded on to you com data card its all automat and your payed when you deliver the load your pay is also put own your comdata card unless you tell them otherwise, there an owneroperator company they have no company trucks to compete with.
they have a terminal just south of jaxsonvill off I95. i recomend them highly.
you will do well there . good luck my friend .------southernpride

if you're leased to LandStar and you have your own authority, can you still pull loads off of other load boards or are you stuck like chuck?

You can't have both YOUR authority and be leased to work under a company on THEIR authority as well. When you lease to a company the contract clearly stipulates you must not pull freight under any other MC but theirs.

"Can't" might be the incorrect term. You "shouldn't" perhaps fits better? I'll tell you one thing: Have your equipment leased to a company, and have them paying for your insurance, etc and get caught hauling with said equipment using your own MC and squeezing them out of their fair share, and you'll be blacklisted with very bold letters... at best.

You would be surprised how many people still haul this and that, for an extra under the table buck or two.We did this years ago every week.Times were different back then.We were not ''over regulated'' from all the GREEDY PEOPLE trying to make a buck from us.Speaking of which.I have two small pallets for a friend i am bringing back to NY For him from Chicago.A few hundred bucks never hurt anyone..

That is the biggest problem in trucking.Everyone wants all the money to themselves from the hard work of the truck driver. They want to live off the shirt tails of the working men/woman.Once they found out how to steal your money they called it a ''regulation''.I for one do not call it ''regulation''.I call it running my business as i see fit.I got tired of feeding all the LAZY no good for nothing Moochers, sitting on there ### doing nothing. Not to mention they never drove a truck in there life...
