CCC which is a sister company of CT had a tractor purchase program back in '04 when I was with them, from what I heard it was a very popular option in Brooksville, FL back in the 90's when building was going strong, but as things slacked off with the recession it wasn't anything anyone much talked about. Like everyone else, I don't know if it's still available or not.

I can date myself back to the Kennedy Trucking days and i actually was hired by Kennedy but decided not to take the job. They were bought by CT and there was O/Os back then. The economy took its toll on the CT/CCC/ComCar and Willis Shaw Express. Kennedy became CT and I dont remember seeing O/Os there but all those other companies fall under the same umbrella and may have O/Os. The trucks look the same but just pull different freight.

I've enjoyed reading this thread and learning about CT. I live in Savannah and did my cdl training at Savannah Tech. A recruiter from CT visited my class to tell us about their company. I enjoyed driving flatbeds than dry vans in school but I know that flatbedding isn't for me right now...maybe in future.

Hey I start CDL school at the end of the month and should be finished in April. How is everyone doing at CT?? Are y'all still with them?? They are in my top 3 right now of companies to go to after CDL school. Is everyone still happy with them??
-
Yes I am still with CT. Just got through the slow freight season. There have been a couple of times I honestly thought I was just going to quit, but stuck it out because of the slow freight and lack of miles, but stuck with it. First year is always the toughest, because you expect one thing and only see another. The newer trucks are rolling in and hopefully the trailers are behind it. I still like the fact that I can call, discuss my differences and they work hard to make things happen for us; the driver.

Are they still getting you home every weekend?? What states do they have you doing alot of running in?? And what terminal do they have you out of??
-
I am home every weekend without fail. I mainly run SC, NC, GA (a lot of Atlanta) and FL. I'm out of the Savannah Terminal. This week for the first time in months I'm heading up to Northern Ohio. Fine with me, good miles!
-
Congrats on the long run lol. Have you pulled out of the mocksville terminal?? Where do their loads usually run....what's your lowest pay check since you've been with CT
-
Lowest...$38.00. Not there fault, turned in my pay envelope late. Haha. We have an account with Funder out of Mocksville, and I've pulled out of there a lot. Loads go up to Northern VA, Miami, Texas and in between. Never got a Texas run due to lack of freight getting you back. But things are picking up. You would be out over the weekend if you run to Missouri or Texas.
