You are leaving the red knob pushed in when parking in the cold, yes?

You know I am. Ain't my first rodeo. But you know we have tag axles. The 2 rear wheels on the tractor were frozen solid after I shut down. I couldn't even knock em loose with the crow bar.

weird, my tag axle doesnt have spring brakes - presumably for that very reason. The only other tip I have is to wait a few minutes before setting the parking brakes, especially if you were braking down an off ramp just prior to parking...

Noted. At least now I am in a truck stop. And I just put the truck in 1st and went in to take a shower and pulled the brakes when I got back in the truck. Plus between 2 trucks there isn't wind blowing fresh snow all up in everything.

Sitting in the Holiday Inn in Joplin. Truck has to go to KW to get fixed. Glad I waited til I got here. XD Much rather be stuck here than some random city in a cheap crappy hotel.

Let me axe a question about espar heaters.Does anybody's heater stay on when you start truck, go off when driving? My old freightliner with apu, heater would work then automatic shut off when drive, auto turn back on when parked.Zero degrees and probably got hypothermia last night.Friggin heater shuts off due to low voltage, then ice cold engine that takes half hour to warm up.

My espar doesn't ever shut off unless I manually shut it off. And it drains the battery in about 3 hours so the low battery beeper comes on until I wake up.
