Saw this on Monday on my way to lunch, happened after an earlier wreck between car and truck that closed down the interstate after diesel fuel was spilled. Most people initially defended the driver of the truck in this one, as he attempted to stop and couldn't (there had just been a different fatal accident less than 24 hours earlier near the same spot, woman on her 2nd DUI in under 12 months killed someone and her bond was less than his). He was seen throwing alcohol over the side of an overpass after seeing there was a car under his truck and people are reconsidering what their opinion is, though they dropped a felony DUI charge to reckless homicide. I didn't even realize that silver stuff in the picture was a car until there was a closeup picture. When I passed, I thought it was part of the truck.

526 is high volume for trucks - most of the port terminals are accessed off of it. Unfortunately, so many people refuse to realize trucks can't stop on a dime or make sudden movements as well as a car and often cast the blame in the wrong place. There was another accident about 5-6 years ago where someone ran into a truck getting on that interstate and caused a chain reaction that killed 5 people in one of the worst ways (IMO), burning to death.
Stay safe everybody!

My husband & I just moved back to Virginia from Charleston, SC a few months ago and I can tell ya, driving on those interstates down there was always white knuckle!! People down there CANNOT drive! If the speed limit is 65, they're ALL going at least 85 - even the police! Of coarse, a lot of Virginian drivers can't drive worth a hoot, either.
skibum_63 Thanks this. -
Just them 757 drivers can't drive worth a hoot, leave the rest of VA out of it lol...

Ha ha ha!! You nailed it!! Glad to "see" a fellow Virginian here on the forum. Thanks for the laugh, I needed that!

I agree lol. I'm from New Jersey, so I guess I have been used to driving with crazy people, but I KNOW how to drive with the NJ crazies... some of the people in SC I just can't figure out how or why they do the things they do. And forget if there's any other type of weather other than sunshine...
There were 3 big accidents, two fatal, on I-526 East within 24 hours between Sun & Mon ... -
Just moved to Conway a couple of months ago myself. first thing i noticed is people here are horrible drivers.I see running red lights and they have no clue there are turn signals on there cars.
And some reason people pull into the merge lanes and stop as if there is a stop sign they all see that i don't.
