It's not like it was over 10 years ago,
but there is a way to make it sorta work
a little. Read up on it and understand
it well before attempting it. -
O i have and i understand it, but he said it's not legal now. That's the question legal or not legal?
-
It didn't go away, but they made it less beneficial to use. Some people in enforcement frown on it still, but it can be useful for short haul and multiple drop loads, to get you home sooner. I was told before the change that some in enforcement encourage use of it because they do see the benefits,
The logbook programs and e-logs will help figure it so it is done right, otherwise, there are numerous threads and posts about it. -
Yes it is legal. Still in the regulations, had to show it to someone the other day. It is at least an 8 followed by at least a 2. We also have elogs and it's programed in.

Thanks Trucail.

What I wondered is how many times can you use a split sleeper berth, once only in a period of time or more than once.
-
You can do it all day long. It just keeps stopping your clock, to start with a full 14/11 you have to take a 10. I try not to do it at all, it gets messy, but sometimes it comes in handy.
-
According to DOT you are no longer required to have "consecutive" sleeper berth periods. The new rule is to be enforced by using the "mostfavorable" sleeper berth periods to the driver.
