I live 35 miles from Claremont NC, Cargo Transporters home. Anybody out there that works for them or have worked for them? How are they about getting you home each weekend & is it a 34 hour restart or 2 days? How is the health insurance? How long is orientation? How long out with trainer? Thanks for any info.

I live in Hickory and have worked at Cargo Transporters for over two years now. Im home every weekend (in the past 2 years I think I have had maybe 4 weekends where I didn't get a 34 hour restart) and usually a night or two during the week. The freight is fairly steady/consistent, lots of drop/hook loads. Equipment is kept in good shape and safety is top priority.
My health insurance is around $40 a week, I was with my trainer for 8 weeks. Orientation for a driver straight out of driving school is basically 3 days.RockyRiverOwl Thanks this. -
How would orientation be for a experienced driver?
-
When I went through orientation, the people in it that were experienced were assigned trucks and got their first load halfway through the second day of orientationcarolina law Thanks this.

do you get paid weekly or biweekly?
-
Weekly by direct deposit. And they pay reimbursements for scales, tolls(most if not all trucks have EZ pass), etc a couple times a week so you never have to wait more than a day or two for that money once you have turned in the receipt.
