not to be a douche but bud there getting strict on the BP readings for the DOT cards no play unless you goto a well known doctor who can do DOT physicals and he hooks you up there isnt much of a way around except trying to have actual low BP.

I think so.. any company is better off without idiots who pretend that their high blood pressure is something to play around with.. DOT physicals don't cost the driver anything.. and the vast majority of companies ( I know of none that will not hire without a two year card specifically) do not even blink at the 1 year med cards anymore.. their drivers are aging and the standards have gotten tougher.. so to meet the standards more and more drivers are having to maintain their health better.

Well, your display of your lack of integrity is stellar. Lying by omission is still lying. Do think they make this requirement to be difficult. I will have to do this, do I like it? Nope.

I have high BP controlled by meds, and it reads normal (110/70) as long as I take my meds, which I do. Plus I take my own BP with a home monitor. I do get a 2 year card because I don't mention the meds. Is it fudging ? Yeah. But I'm taking that risk. Oh, yeah, I also fudge on my log book. Again, my risk. But I do pay all my taxes !

Oh really? So I could take my meds for a week before the physical, then quit for the rest of the year. There's no 'random physical' requirement. Makes no sense.

And these types of posts shows the death spiraling plunge of the integrity of the run of the mill "professional" (snicker) driver these days... The industry became all about lifestyle truckers and adults who are running away to join the circus.. If you want to run around with high blood pressure and act like your "sticking it to the man" or it makes you some sort of rocket scientist... be my guest... but it just shows that you're either just cheap, stupid or an equal combination of both.. what a stud... soooo impressive. And there is a reason that the general public perceives truckers as lowlifes and dregs..

Your doctor can approve you for a 2 year card and write a letter explaining why he is deciding against the DOT regs and states that in his opinion you are fit to drive under a 2 year card with no restrictions. Many carriers have a pre formatted letter you can merely have your doctor sign and date with a short explanation, but in the end it is the doctor's decision.
