Is it Possible to Leave a Starter Company right after You get your CDL?

Stay at least one year .. If you leave before and get a real bad one you don't like or get fired it will b even tougher to get something decent . drivers do it all the time the penalty is they the company's think you are a job jumper and good ones wont hire you thinking you want the sign on bonus and leave .

 

The guy at my job went cr England got his cel and drove home now they want their money and they won't give him his school certificate. That's it nothing else

 

Work the amount of time needed to complete your contractual obligation.

 

I wouldnt, unless you already have a CDL job lined up. Most companys want 6 mo experience otherwise they cant insure you. Plus the starter company will sue you so have have some cash lined up to cut a deal

 

Stevens probably has a yard in Houston. Call them and ask them . You can park the truck at the yard. It doesn't have to be a terminal. You need to stay at the company you choose at least a year. Then maybe you can try for a local gig. The penalties are a screwed up DAC.

 

Most likely, you will owe them for the cost of the schooling ($2500-$5000).
