This says it all... more and more trucks being added everyday and the number of fatalities went down with 11-14-70/34 hr restart (I like the old split shift thought, it allowed for you to take a nap and not get penalized)..

These people need to quit wasting tax payers money by tying up the courts with this issue....

This don't surprise me at all... leave it to the union to mess things up... Anybody ever been to a union facility and you know how lazy they are in the first place... brotherhood for who? union members only? or truckers in general? we know the answer to that...

I say OOIDA should step up to the plate here, and take the lead.

Simply ask these "people" what they think is "safe". If they say 8 hours a day. Stand with them in the court.

Then.... 6 months later, those same people will be begging the court to reverse the action. Especially when fresh tomatoes hit $5 a pound. IF you can get fresh anything.

I Noticed That Public Citizen Lied In Their Filing To The Court About The Hos, Where Truckers Can Drive 88 Hrs In 8 Days. Anyone Knows That Has Really Any Knowledge Of The Hos, Knows You Can Only Drive 70 Hrs In 8 Days.how Do They Keep Getting Away With Making False Statements In Court. Are They Not Under Oath When They Make These Accusations?

AS being a Teamster , I like these hours 11/14/70=34 it gives me more time to work. It would be nice if we could but the co. & union did'nt agree on this in the last contract. So we don't use the 34 hour reset, shoot!

you can legaly work 88 hours a week, but not drive all of it...you do hafta show time for loading, fueling and of course the PTI we all do every day

thats the beuaty of the restart...run your hours out in 6 days...reset and run anouther 17 or so by the end of day 8

Because of the restart you can actually work more than 70 hours in a day. I haven't figured out if a driver ran straight with little delay how many hours he/she could work in a week now, but I do know you can average more than 70 hours in an 8 day period.
What they fail to realize is a driver can actually drive more than 11 hours in a day :). Shhh oooppss darn it they are probably reading here.
