So far, the XLP has worked good for me also. Lowest temps I have experienced this year is -10F, so it is not a real killer test of the product. But the fuel was just #2 and had bio in it and I am using a 7 micron Davco filter. No problems. Sure more cost effective, while being almost the same product, as the Amsoil line of additives. My local Amway supplier keeps stuff in stock for me so I do not have to wait on an order.

Ran five days last week with -3 temperatures, no telling what it was factoring in chill temps running at 65 mph.
Used Power Service Diesel Kleen and kept the water separates drained and had the heat on it, not one sputter. -
Been dealing with the same weather since that real cold air mass moved down from Canada. I'm using Howes, and haven't had any problems either.aiwiron Thanks this.

Other than putting in blended fuel last week on Wednesday just as the cold was hitting, I haven't used any additive other than Lucas upper cyl lube
aiwiron Thanks this. -
The problem I run into is the fuel line back to the APU... that'll start getting clogged in cold weather before I run into trouble with the rest of the fuel system. Keeping some additive in the fuel when it gets cold has taken care of that.aiwiron Thanks this.

I have a bunch of powerservice, but it's just as cheap to put in blended as to put in additive.
With most of the winter blends the stations put in, I don't see a need to add more. Talked with some of them, and they add powerservice to the tanks.aiwiron Thanks this. -
i only worry about it after a trip down south then heading back to the tundra

Never heard about that. They just used gasoline and sometimes bypassed fuel filters when the fuel gelled real bad.
