    Hey Swift flatbedders,
Can anyone provide insight as to why Oklahoma would be a no hire zone for FB? I was really thinking about going that route after orientation, found out today that it's a no go due to my location.

I doubt it's a no hire zone, but they don't do flatbed training anywhere near OK. You'd have to find a way to get to phx, gary, or greer. Call flatbed tomorrow and see what they say, 800 800 FLAT

Thanks to whoever edited the title. They were telling me Greer most likely until they came back and said no hire zone which I found very surprising.

Well take a look at maverick then. They're generally regarded as the best fb carrier that hires/trains new drivers and they only hire out of the Midwest (why I don't drive for them).

It is a no hire zone for flatbed... We don't have freight there so can't get you home. Swift's flatbed tends to run in regular triangle shaped routes on both coasts. Unlike most major carriers that cover the midwest, we have little to nothing out there.

You would think we would have fber's out of there. Depending on where u live u could always swing through home with a Laredo run from Gary area?

They're not hiring from that area. Period. Causes too much tie up to go home under a load and shorts drivers hometime. There are many companies that hire flatbed for Oklahoma, Swift just isn't one of them anymore.

I just found it surprising is all. Any other areas we know of diesel? I get asked about swift flat all the time, this is good info to know.

Last I heard most of the midwest was out along with Florida. When in doubt, I'd still have a prospect call recruiting because that can change all the time and most of us on the frontlines are not informed when it does.

Steve used to do a FB triangle that was TX, was it NC or SC? and then IN round and round.. if I remember correctly. I still joke if I lived in TX he would never drive there he'd be somewhere else... Since he is never in AZ...
