I am sorry about your dilemma.

The Swift Recruiter that came to my school also told us that his boss told him not to recruit from Maine any more. The reason was that Swift doesn't have that much freight going into Maine lately. The drivers that they currently have from Maine are in excess of 300+ miles from any of there commerce areas and it is a strain on there dispatch to route them home.

Sorry, I know this must be disappointing. Have you considered a relocation? Possibly even temporarily just to get experience, maybe N.H. or V.T.

I hope things work out for you.

Try Smith Transport out of PA. I don't know if they hire out of Maine but it's worth a shot.

You are probably right Mack. I forgot they ran black trucks. Didn't they have some red ones? Someone I knew drove for them. I could have swore he had a red tractor. I must be suffering from TBF. :biggrin_2559:

I don't think many companies accept a P.O. Box as a legit addy. And even if they did, they wouldn't authorize any additional miles past it for home-time. I could be wrong.:biggrin_25512:

Roehl is most likely shutting down their Groveton, NH yard or at least curtailing it a bunch. The mill in town is closing at the end of the year, and that is the majority of the freight up there. They do run into Maine, but mostly flatbed stuff and now they will have a bunch of drivers up there that will be looking for freight.
That might be why they said no.
