What a life... So far I have seen nothing bad about this company after two months.. I am averaging about 10,000 + a month on miles... I like to run hard when i start my day and it shows... have to do a reset about every 6 days.. done more in one month on the road than i did with Knight in a year.. I have not had to sit more than 15 minutes for a load after i dropped... usually as soon as the empty call goes in i get the next load... still trying to get them to send me the pre-plan while i am shutdown for my next load... I guess Pre-plan is a loose term with companies.. had to force the issue of safety a few times on truck repairs... my call .... i am the one driving.. doubled my weekly income so far... they use trip pak so some weeks are low and others high.. they will keep you out more than 12 days if you wish... depends on your dispatch..
all in all...not a bad company... equipment is kept up...have not had a flat tire on a trailer yet... not even worn spots... on the road repairs to the tractor are painless... they try to route you to a TA or shop close... no questions asked... just bring the broke parts back for them...
had a deer hit... some hood damage.. in the shop and out in 24 hours...new hood... of course the safety report... they need to teach NC deer how to read road signs... deer was crossing at the wrong spot..
They give you routing... but have detoured some on their routing due to known traffic conditions...mainly.. NY,NJ, CT area....
Fuel is located for you.... so have to may go a day or two without a shower...haha..
I would give this company a 9+ for it's efforts and awareness that the drivers make the company.... -
But you're only one driver and a new one with the company to boot. I've read comments from ex-Smith drivers on another site that they treat the drivers like crap. Keep up the writing and thanks,OH how's the bennies or do they take 90days?

Please list your average pickup and delivery times:
1) During normal business hours?
2) Please list the number of drops or pickups during the hours of 12am to 6am.
3) How many deliveries are with appointments?
a) When, approximately are the appointments---during normal business hours or in the middle of the night? -
Everything always depends on your load. I average probably 95% d&h.. appt during day and night.. food usually at night....

they may have been from another terminal.. I am out of Roaring Springs. I have been out here for a few years,, but up in the years of age. I can usually spot a song and dance routine. I have been in and out of the yard a few times and not really have heard the grumbling except from one driver who did not want a 200 mile run after hometime.. You have to take the small runs with the long ones and just bear it out when coming off home time... You may not be in the best of freight lanes... I live in a area where freight is always running. I can bob home and get an empty from a dc within 40 miles of my house. I cannot say anything about the other drivers. The driver may have to move around till he finds a company he is comfortable with. Just like some drivers like Swift... to each his own.. I had my radar up and it is still up.. but i am happy so far. I spend 13 months with Knight and the last six months were very stressful. So I moved. I did research also and talked to drivers at trkstps..
The benefits kick in after 90 days.... -
On drop and hook; Is this 24 hour flexible drop time or are there appointments involved?
When you deliver at night, usually about what time at night? -
Whats with these questions??

Well I drive for JB Hunt and I deal with a ton of crap on a daily basis. I've been told by upto regional manager that I'm one of the best drivers on the account but most of the time you'd never know it. They have this thing going now called hard breakin and if you use your brakes too hard you get written up like an accident,I understand what they're doing they don't want drivers riding peoples butts they're just going about it in the wrong way. I live up in NH so the Smith terminal for me would be outta PA I think.
Ya day or night(I prefer night up here in the Northeast because much less traffic) long or short loads I don't care as long as I'm making enough money steadily.
You said they route you and tell you where to fuel and how much,do they tell you where to break or anything else like that.
I remember one of your drivers at the Natick,Ma papermill awhile ago(mill is closed now) and his directions was a notepad page so I guess you guys avoid the bigroads that's kinda pain.
