I respect the fact that your job is thankless and over looked, but oversight needs to be a two way street.

The windshield stick is a CVSA sticker that is recognized by all states . They will remove a corner to show which quarter it was done . It is not a guarantee you will not be inspected again during that quarter . Also if you are inspected in March it won't indicate whether you were inspected in January or March . If will be ignored in April .
The trailer also needs a sticker so if the trailer hasn't been inspected in the current quarter you could be pulled in .

CVSA decals are valid in all CVSA jurisdictions US and Canada. They are good for 90 days, and keep you from getting a "random" inspection.

If an inspector sees a violation, he can go ahead and do another inspection, though.

As for the Level 1 roadside inspection being good for the Federal Annual inspection, it is. You need to keep a copy of the Level 1 FMCSA inspection in the vehicle for the 12 month period, though. The CVSA decal, being good for only 90 days, will not work.

I thought so, okay let me clarify this, lets say I get a Level 1 tommorrow, that inspection will serve as Federal Annual inspection and is good till Feburary 10 2014, correct?

As far as FMCSA is concerned.

Whether your carrier will honor it, I cannot say.

I question the 90 days . They are marked by the quarter they are done in . If you are inspected the last month of one quarter you will be starting another quarter the next month . http://www.jjkeller.com/webapp/wcs/...edCVSAinspectionsticker-102012_10151_-1_10551

True. To be completely accurate, CVSA decals could be valid for anywhere between 60 and 90 days.

I should have said "up to 90 days."

So, is this violation going to affect my CSA score?:biggrin_25524:

Another violation ? 60 to 90 days ? Maybe not even 6 days . Get a sticker March 29th and 3 days later they are issuing the second quarter sticker .
