I am thinking about Averitt however I have read all the recent posts about low miles and not many loads... Even with the low miles, what is the average weekly check that your bringing home? I do understand that it all depends CPM and your time with the company too. Thanks for any answers in advance. By the way, this has been a great thread to read =)

Sitting at the Fulton SC now. First one for me and a good one to go to. Pretty nice. Back to Cookeville maybe, my driver needs to be back to Renew his license on Friday. Maybe we'll get a 2.5 day weekend. Learned the process for balancing a load today. We were heavy on the drives ....... Glad we did, we had to pull in to be weighed in Ga.
Dog tired first day (Sunday), with no driving.
Monday As soon as I was good on the Qualcomm I'm put under the wheel. Empty load so I'm bouncing all over the place. Had to drop and hook so this was the first time backing in this truck. Drove until fuel up in ky. Trainer took us in, I was tired. LOL
Came to Atlanta today. Traffic was interesting. LOL. We were loaded with a full load of charcoal so I was able to see how a full load handled. Some how the Qualcomm put me in service starting at midnight until 0400 and we could not edit the entry. We had to call Nashville and get that fixed. It was not until my 10 hr reset at around 1400! Doh!
Stressful but interesting.

Have you ever had one of those weeks when you are just too busy and tired to post? I haven't lately but this week has been that way thankfully. Left out after my oncologist appt on Monday. Picked up in Knoxville and headed to Franklin, IN. Delivered on Tuesday morning. One of those fun "back in from the street" and then back down the drive avoiding huge scrap metal containers and then sticking it on the dock. Then went to Jeffersonville, IN and picked up a pre loaded trailer headed to Hanover, PA. Delivered that this morning. A quick drop and hook, then headed to Carlisle for a quick drop and hook I'll deliver tomorrow afternoon in Abingdon, VA. They won't take it early so I am sitting at a Pilot a couple hours out watching the snow come down.
Last week I took a five week trainee to his truck. Told him to keep my number handy in case he has any questions. He's had plenty. His trainer, sadly, didn't teach him CRAP about load planning, clock management, etc. I've been helping him out as much as I can. He tends to question every answer I give him. I finally told him, "Well since you know the answers why are you calling me?"
That got his attention. My former trainer is talking to the head of the training board about this guys trainer. He didn't even know how to read a map. That is NOT the way Averitt is or should be when it comes to letting drivers loose on their own. Leave that to the mega starter companies.
Hope your week is going well. -
Mike my guy is awesome! He is working with me constantly on the trip planning. I did lots of trip planning when I was a kid and we travelled a lot. My dad was Air Force and civil service so we moved all the time. Getting the Qualcomm down, still trying to pick up the typing short hand down. It was a stressful day.

Glad to hear you got a good one. Most of the trainers at Averitt are top notch and take what they do seriously. Keep at it and soon enough you'll be in your own truck, buddy!
