Loaned my broom to a driver and he stole it, or forgot he had it and left the truck stop. So I had to buy another one and ended up getting the $21 road pro garage broom from the LOVES I am at. The first one had defective threads and wouldn't thread up to the handle. The second one threaded fine- but on the first pass the "metal" handle bent in half. You don't have to apply much pressure, but a little bit to seat the bristles into a ducted reefer floor.

So I swept my trailer out with a 3 foot broom. It worked, but I looked like one of santa's mechanical elves at the mall.

Yeah- stay away from the Road Pro garage broom unless you want to replace the handle before the job is complete.

Road Pro is hit and miss with some of their stuff. I've been completely satisfied with their CB extension speaker, even though I got scoffed and laughed at when buying it for "buying cheap junk." But it works and has for a year now. I also bought one of their little portable shop vacuums from a Pilot. Guy behind me in line saw it in my arm and said "I wouldn't buy that if I were you. Its a piece of crap." So I ask "Whats wrong with it?" He says "Oh I owned one and it was just a piece of crap." So I said "Well...does it suck? Because thats all I need it for..." Everybody in line started laughing and he just grunted and stopped talking to me. Needless to say...it does suck and very well. So I've been satisfied with that too.

On the other hand, I've bought iphone cables, cigarette lighter sockets, and other electrical stuff that has completely failed. So I guess its just luck of the draw. Sorry about your broom.

I would have returned it when I was done with it. Pretty bad when walmart sells higher quailty stuff.

Funny you mention the vacuum. Was it the black and blue cannister vac? I had one too and wow it was a pile of junk. It sucked, but the filter bag would slide down and leave a gap for all the dirt to blow out the vent. So it was like a dirt snow-blower spraying filth all over the truck. I took it back to the J and upgraded to the dirt devil which performs OK.

Glad you had good luck with your stuff mostly.

Hahah yup one and the same! It came with two cloth filters which the instructions said to simply wash with your laundry. Well one got passed through the digestive system of a dryer at some forgotten truck stop once so now I'm down to one filter. I had to put a rubber band on it because its tensioner does not hold it on. It reminds me of a nerdy white guy trying to use some kind of exotic condom. Sorry. Anyhow yeah the rubber band helps prevent the disaster that you refer to. It is good for sucking up the larger piles of debris so what I've found to be effective is to sweep the whole cab and consolidate then use the vacuum to take up the pile. Often though, when I get to that pile I've found that its easier to just put it in my dustpan and out the door it goes. Can't seem to remember why I even bought the vacuum now........

Buy the broom head, then buy the metal handle separately. Just throw away the plastic handle. The setup has been working for me for the past 7 months.

Draped up and drifted out. Know what I'm talking about? Three in the morning, just stashed up my stash spot.

Whatever TA sells has worked well for me. Can't remember if it's wooden or metal though. I'll have to check when we stop moving. The brush itself is a good stiffness for a reefer trailer as well. Many of them are either too stiff to get down into the grooves or to soft to actually push anything. My biggest problem with every broom is they're all too short for me. Need an extra long handle for tall guys.

I bought it at loves; the guy that borrowed mine decided to keep it and I had to load in 90 mins. In fairness the broom head is good- it was just the handle that was crap.
