Hey oilpatch guys; hope you're staying healthy and warm
Been thinking about coming out for a couple years now
I am a woman and some of you guys replied saying there are women hauling water there. Thanks for the replies. Have been reading all your posts and since I am a highway driver maybe it's not for me. I live I'm Michigan and have been stuck in snow a few times and shoveled. my guts out. The thought of being stuck. in mud makes me cringe. How do you. get out of that? So, my question is; do you guys know what waitresses in the truckstops make? -
Why is there so much detention time delivering frac sand.

Wells go down for various reasons high pressure, they screen out or they may drop the gun in the hole. Sometimes it's broken equipment. If they bring in coil tubing to fix it, that takes 12hrs minium. Unless there's another job close by for you to take the sand to you just wait. Depending on the type of sand and how far you have to travel to get it, they can't take the chance of sending you away. Have the well come back on line and not have the sand on location. There's not all that much they're trying to cut down on it.

I heard the oil field trucking jobs in Ohio have not really panned out. What, too many moratoriums? Now I hear California is proposing moratoriums on fracking their shale. I sometimes wonder if the Middle East is not providing some of the campaign funds for these politicians.

Does this established company you work for need experienced local tank drivers? I have no OTR, but have driven in Chicago winters for the last 11 years.

This is all pretty depressing. I am considering getting a job in ND hauling water or crude. I would also consider driving a belly or side dump. But you guys are making me worry about making the move.
