Up 95 unto long island

Quick and cheap don't go together. If I'm headed north on 95 to Long Island, I usually take the Goethals bridge to the Verrezano Narrows Bridge. Get the New York administered EZ-pass, you get significant discounts on the NY tolls.

Ol'hand posted a route to the island that has almost no tolls. I think there may have been one bridge toll, but I'm not sure.

 

if your coming from baltimore area you can save some tolls if you run up 83 to 30 and cut across to 78 to go the gothels brg..to 495.otherwise its 40$ @ the 92mm in md,then another 30$ at the state line 109mm md/de. then you go over the de mem.br.(free nb.)take 295 north to rt 1 n.to the ramp for 278 gothels br.the toll by the way is 75$ on the gothels,outter br. or the gw.then come out the throgs neck br.$27 or 37 i forget.but then the gw is free coming south...hope you can make it over the brg.between the hrs of 11pm and 4am.and then out b-4 noon,otherwise pack a lunch,youll be a while.
