Propane and fuel trucks have always been used in weather emergencies and the HOS have been expanded to get heating fuels and other products to people who are potentially in danger.. this seems like yet another tin foil conspiracy attempt or another shot at the current administration.. one in the same..
When did Americans overall and truckers especially become such victims? -
Speak for yourself. I fall asleep after 6.5 hours and how I do the other 4.5 is a mystery to me.......
-
shoot...i am good for 15 ,16 hrs driving, sometimes longer, pretty truck, set the cruise on 75, sunflower seeds, country music and away i go....

If HOS compliance is all about safety, and the studies used to create the rules are foolproof, then there should be NO exceptions to HOS - EVER. Safety is paramount and should NEVER be compromised. Simply require team operation of any truck that has a critical load. End of story.
The fact that exceptions are allowed tells me that HOS has nothing to do with safety.volvodriver01 and BoyWander Thank this. -
And if fmcsa told you to jump in the nearest pond you would do that?

When a LOT of people could potentially die via freezing to death.. the safety and well being of the general public is paramount No one says that a single driver or company HAS to break the HOS regs.. But we a not talking about some super trucker driving 24/7 like an idiot because he spent too much time at the casino to deliver a load of toilet paper
. -
no one was talking about that type of driver
WE are talking about drivers like me and you getting fined and our companies forced to elog because we only slept 9.5hrswindsmith and volvodriver01 Thank this. -
Funny thing is, there's absolutely NO requirement on the amount of sleep a driver has to get. One could stay awake watching movies for 10 hours for all they care. As long as one has logged 10 hours off duty, they're legal.

please dont give those idiots any ideas.
they will mandate sleep monitoring machines and cameras facing the driver
