Is there an o/o thats under his own authority that can recommend a good health insurance company. Our company lost health insurance when a partner left her job that supplied health insurance and im in the market for GOOD insurance. Cost isnt a huge issue premiums will be written off of course. Right now just want good insurance. Im laid up as of friday with a bum knee and might have to have surgery so insurance is a necessity as opposed to the bills from the quack...thatll probably be operating on me running on nothing but 2 hours sleep and 25 cups of coffee. Thanks.

Check out My Community Care through them, it's not major medical, but it's only $89 a month for the whole family.

You should also check with your state of residence. My state, Arizona, offers a group policy through Blue Cross/Blue Shield for the rest of us Arizonans who don't have insurance through another source. It's a great policy (95/5) about $350/mo for a single person with $1000 deductible. No disrespect to OOIDA, love them, but you're right, $1K/mo premium is a little steep. See if your state offers some group policy.

Check with your state motor carrier association. That's where mine is through; OOIDA's plan is not available in my state even if I wanted it!

I have mine and wife's health insurance thru Blue Cross Blue Shield on my own. 5 million lifetime coverage. It is a higher deductable plan tied to a health savings account for the little stuff. Costs me $433 a month. Full coverage, not some scaled back goofy type of plan.

Check out BCBS (blue cross blue shield).. I have mine thru Farm Bureau.
The problem with getting ins now is you have a per-existing condition that most ins co will not cover
